This was a mixed experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my risotto. It was perfectly creamy and the saffron was perfect. However, the other two dishes my friends ordered were WAY over seasoned with garlic, to the point they couldn’t finish their meals. I tasted them, and it was a sour-garlic flavor and very unpleasant. That being said, the bread service was good, the wine was amazing, and the service was good. I think it is likely that the ratings are high because of how fun the vibes are. I would return but would probably be art of certain dishes.
Don’t miss this cozy Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village. Pasta is made there and simply delightful. The grilled calamari was seasoned perfectly and the ricotta cheesecake was light and had just the right amount of sweetness. Visit this long standing restaurant and taste the homemade pasta yourself!
This is a beautiful place for a date night or honestly any sort of intimate celebration. I visited on 9/27 with a close friend of mine. We enjoyed both of our meals, I've never had such great tasting pasta before. We both had mocktails, I appreciated that they had a few mocktails on their drink menu since I don't drink alcohol. The staff was attentive and welcoming. Overall, 10/10 experience.
I had dinner at Da Andrea Chelsea on a Saturday evening at 6 PM, and overall it was a great experience—but there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you must make a reservation. The place fills up quickly, and without one, I honestly don’t think you’ll be able to get a table. I had a reservation and even arrived about 20 minutes early, but still had to wait at the bar until our table was ready. So just be aware—punctuality won’t necessarily get you seated faster! That said, the atmosphere was fantastic—cozy, lively, and warm. It’s the kind of place that feels special but still comfortable. The service was hands down some of the best I’ve experienced in the city: friendly, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. As for the food, I ordered pasta. It was good—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying—but I wouldn’t say it was the best pasta I’ve ever had. Still, it complemented the experience nicely. The only real downside for me was how tightly packed the tables were. It felt a little cramped, and you could easily hear neighboring conversations. A bit more space between tables would make the dining experience even better. Overall, Da Andrea is definitely worth visiting for the service and ambiance alone. Just plan ahead, make a reservation, and be prepared to wait a few minutes at the bar even if you're early.
My husband and I decided to dine here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was our first time here. It was a nice surprise with a great atmosphere. We had the pleasure of meeting Anna the hostess. Cem who treated us well. He served us with great hospitality. He made gave us some nice recommendations for our main course. I recommend this place for a nice night on the town and for visitors. We shall return soon ;-)
